Medical Biller / Collector

Job Description We are seeking a detail-oriented and motivated Medical Biller/Collector to support a fast-paced healthcare organization. This role is responsible for managing billing operations, following up on accounts, and communicating with insurance providers and patients to ensure timely and accurate reimbursement. This position is fully onsite in West Hollywood, CA. Candidates must reside in Los Angeles County and be able to reliably commute to the worksite.Responsibilities/ Job Duties: Process and review medical claims for accuracy and completeness prior to submission Perform high-volume account follow-up (100+ daily touches including calls, claim reviews, and updates) Handle both inbound and outbound calls with insurance companies and patients Work with a variety of payers including commercial, HMO, and government plans Review and interpret EOBs (Explanation of Benefits) and communicate findings to patients when needed Resolve billing discrepancies, denials, and unpaid claims in a timely manner Enter and maintain accurate patient and billing information in the EMR system Utilize appropriate billing and coding practices (ICD, CPT, and UBO forms as applicable) Ensure compliance with HIPAA and organizational billing guidelines Collaborate with internal teams to resolve account issues and improve workflow efficiency Minimum Education and Experience Qualification Requirements: Minimum 1+ year of medical billing and/or collections experienceExperience working with commercial and government insurance payersStrong understanding of billing processes, claims follow-up, and denial managementFamiliarity with EOBs, coding basics (ICD/CPT), and insurance verificationExperience with EMR systems (such as Allscripts or Veradigm preferred, but not required)Excellent attention to detail and ability to work in a high-volume, fast-paced environmentStrong communication and customer service skillsSchedule/ Shift:Monday - Friday, 8 AM - 5 PM We will consider for employment all qualified Applicants, including those with criminal histories, in a manner consistent with the requirements of applicable federal, state, and local laws, including the City of Los Angeles' Fair Chance Initiative for Hiring Ordinance (FCIHO), Los Angeles Fair Chance Ordinance for Employers (ULAC), The San Francisco Fair Chance Ordinance (FCO), and the California Fair Chance Act (CFCA).
