If the position is covered, prior to being hired, promoted, or transferred into the position, the candidate must successfully pass a Personnel Risk Assessment, which includes identity verification and a criminal background check. Prior to being granted unescorted access to cyber secure areas, the candidate must attend cyber security training. Annual cyber security training is also required.Given the financial nature of this position, this position may be required to obtain a credit check depending on location. If the position is covered, prior to being hired, promoted, or transferred into the position, the candidate must successfully pass a credit background check.SUMMARY:Under direct supervision, performs assignments designed to develop engineering work knowledge and abilities through the application of standard techniques, practices and procedures.ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:Provides entry-level engineering support for projects that are small and somewhat repetitive in natureConducts small or repetitive studies or participates in larger studies where project performance, cost, and scheduling are the key factors of evaluationProvides basic engineering support to operational areasCommunicates engineering ideas, recommendations and evaluationsRepresents the Company in technical matters that are fundamental in natureProvides entry-level technical support to and interacts with other associatesUses the Company and industry standards to ensure safety and consistency of engineering resultsProvides occasional technical direction and/or activity supervision to contractors and lower-level Company personnelCOMPETENCIES:Knowledge and ability to apply the appropriate basic and well-established principles, practices and regulations in the incumbents respective disciplineAbility to read, interpret and apply national, state and local codes and standards (IEEE, ANSI, NEC, NESC, ACI, AISC, etc.)Demonstrated good leadership skills, self-motivation, and good interpersonal skillsAbility to translate electrical theory and physics to utility application for improving system reliabilityDemonstrated confidence working in and around high voltage (up to 345kV) electrical facilities. and equipmentQUALIFICATIONSMINIMUM EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE:Bachelors Degree in engineering from a college or university accredited by the Accreditation Board for Engineering and Technology, Inc. (ABET) and one to three years related experience.CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS:Must possess current, legally valid driver's license and meet the Company's driving record requirements.COMMUNICATION SKILLS:Ability to read and interpret documentsAbility to write routine reports and correspondence, write speeches, and presentationsAbility to speak effectively before groups of customers, employees, and managers of the organizationCOMPUTER SKILLS:In-depth knowledge of personal computers including demonstrated proficiency with electrical engineering design programs, such as AutocadWorking knowledge of operating systems, word processing, database, and spreadsheet softwareANALYSIS AND PROBLEM-SOLVING ABILITY:Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out complex instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.
