Job Title: Scientist IICompany: Kelly Science & Clinical (on behalf of a leading medical device organization)Location: Cornelia, GA (training may be in Athens, GA or vice versa)Employment Type: 6 month contract, potential for extensionPay: $30/hr-$35/hrShift: Monday-Friday, 8am-5pmPosition SummaryKelly Science & Clinical is seeking a Scientist II to support biological testing and product development activities within a regulated laboratory environment. This role involves designing and executing biological experiments, performing routine and complex laboratory testing, and supporting manufacturing operations to ensure timely product delivery.The Scientist II will work under general supervision, applying established scientific practices and techniques while ensuring compliance with cGMP standards and internal procedures.Key ResponsibilitiesPerform environmental monitoring, laboratory assays, and biomarker identification/developmentConduct biological indicator, endotoxin, bioburden, growth promotion testing, and microbial identificationExecute routine and complex testing to support manufacturing and product release timelinesPerform raw material, in-process, and finished goods testing upon completion of trainingAnalyze and interpret data; provide scientific input based on current literatureInitiate and participate in investigations for non-conforming resultsMaintain accurate documentation in compliance with Good Documentation Practices (GDP)Troubleshoot methodologies and laboratory instrumentationPerform calibration, verification, and maintenance of lab equipment per SOPsUtilize laboratory software systems and prepare reagents, standards, and controlsSupport training activities and provide peer data reviewEnsure compliance with cGMP, safety, and environmental regulationsQualificationsEducation:Bachelor’s degree in a scientific discipline requiredMaster’s degree preferredExperienceBachelor’s degree with 2–5 years of relevant laboratory experience, orMaster’s degree with 0–3 years of experienceExperience in a cGMP environment requiredChromatography experience (GC and HPLC) requiredExperience with Empower Chromatography Software requiredTest method validation and analytical method development experience preferredRequired Skills & CompetenciesStrong understanding of quality systems and laboratory complianceAbility to work independently with minimal supervisionExcellent organizational, communication, and interpersonal skillsStrong attention to detail and problem-solving abilitiesSelf-motivated with the ability to manage multiple prioritiesAbility to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams#P1As part of our promise to talent, Kelly supports those who work with us through a variety of benefits, perks, and work-related resources.
