Roll Catcher
Primary responsibilities:
Lift and carry rolls: Regularly lift and carry rolls weighing up to 85 pounds every four minutes.
Weighing rolls: Utilize the company's weight chart to ensure each roll is within the proper weight range according to its size.
Operate puller: Run the puller machine to eliminate scrap material throughout the shift, maintaining operational efficiency.
Labeling rolls: Accurately label rolls as per the production schedule, ensuring correct identification and tracking.
Preparation for shipment: Prepare rolls for shipment as directed by the Supervisor. Specific instructions to be provided on-site.
Stacking rolls: Stack rolls on a skid in an organized and safe manner, ensuring stability and ease of transportation.
Assist in threading lines: Work under the guidance of the Supervisor to assist in threading the production lines.
Identify defective rolls: Identify rolls that do not meet quality standards based on weight, width, or edge imperfections. Report any concerns or questions to the Supervisor.
Labeling and taping boxes: Label and tape boxes for production lines, ensuring they are ready for use and correctly marked.
Perform additional duties: Complete other tasks as assigned by the Supervisor, which may vary based on operational needs.
Key skills:
Ability to lift heavy objects (up to 85lbs) regularly.
Attention to detail for accurate labeling and identification.
Basic machine operation skills.
Ability to identify quality issues.
Good organizational skills for effective stacking and preparation.
Willingness to follow instructions and work as part of a team.
Note: This position requires physical stamina and the ability to stand for extended periods. Training for specific machinery and tasks will be provided. Regular communication with the Supervisor is essential to ensure smooth operation and adherence to safety protocols.
