Machine Operator/Assembler
Pivot - Avatar is a subsidiary of Pivot International, and was established in 1999 as a custom electronic design and manufacturing solutions partner. They are located in Shawnee, KS and have over 200 years combined experience in product design, engineering, and manufacturing.
Avatar is looking for a detail-oriented Machine Operator/Assembler to join our team and build great things. This role will be responsible for following work instructions and training in order to operate multiple machines in the PCB production process. This is a highly visible, critical role in a company where your growth is dependent on the results you achieve.
Essential duties and responsibilities:
Quick and efficient operation of automatic and semi-automatic equipment including, but not limited to: conformal coating, Selective solder, Potting, solder paste stencil printer, robotic pick-and-place machines, reflow oven, and PCB washer
Machine setup and minor troubleshooting during machine operation
Follow and adhere to written work instructions for assembly
Perform operator-level routine maintenance on equipment
Quickly communicate issues to area managers
Review bills of materials and part numbers for accuracy
Reports to area managers (Process Engineer/Production Supervisor)
Performs other duties as assigned by managers, including hand-soldering, hardware assembly, and packaging for shipment
Adherence to Avatar Quality Management System practices
Adherence to all policies listed in the Avatar Employee Handbook
Qualifications/Requirements:
Previous electronics/manufacturing experience preferred
Must possess excellent attention to detail
Ability and willingness to follow training on multiple machines/systems
Ability to read and differentiate between similar numbers in Avatar’s part numbering system
Ability to work independently without supervision
Reading and comprehension of component part markings and polarity
Basic computer skills required
Able to input part numbers correctly using keyboard
Able to navigate basic user interface on keyboard
Able to learn how to navigate new computer programs
High school diploma or equivalent
Ability to communicate effectively in English, both written and verbally
Ability to be on feet for 8 hours per day
Ability to lift 25 lbs.

Schedule:
Monday – Friday
Occasional weekend overtime
Flexible work hours from 6:00am to 8:00pm
