Kitchen Assistant/Cook

About us Minerva Senior Center is a small non-profit business in Minerva, OH. We are fast-paced, customer-centric and our goal is to offer a late afternoon meal to area senior citizens and to offer them socialization and social programs. The menu is fixed so there is only 1 offering of meal type per day. We are willing to train the right candidate. Prior kitchen experience is preferred but not mandatory. Candidate must be able to be on their feet for up to 5 hours or more at a time. Main shifts are 1-6 pm Monday-Friday. Occasional weekends will be required. The Minerva Senior Center offers paid vacations and paid sick days, as earned. The Senior Center is always closed for the week of Christmas so time can be spent with one's family. Our work environment includes: On-the-job training Casual work attire ```Duties``` - Prepare and cook meals according to recipes and portion sizes - Ensure food quality and presentation meets company standards - Follow proper food handling and safety procedures - Collaborate with kitchen staff to ensure timely meal preparation - Maintain a clean and organized kitchen environment ```Experience``` - Previous experience as a cook in the food industry preferred - Familiarity with food safety regulations and best practices preferred - Ability to work in a fast-paced environment - Strong knife skills for food preparation preferred - Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills Please note that this job description is not exhaustive and additional duties may be assigned as needed.
