The University offers unique commitments to on-campus students that include a salary guarantee and a Chargers Assistance Program that helps students pay back their loans if they do not find full-time work within 90 days of graduation.Position SummaryThe Department Head Faculty, Computer Science & Cybersecurity will provide leadership in administration, recruitment, teaching and service related to the Computer Science and Cybersecurity department. This position will be responsible for marketing and growing the program, promoting an on-campus undergraduate student experience, and managing the quality and integrity of the program (the BS in Computer Science and the BS in Cybersecurity are ABET-accredited). The Chair must possess a business-mindset and thrive in a collaborative environment. Accordingly, Capitol strongly encourages industry professionals with an appropriate Master's or Doctorate degree and teaching experience to apply for this position.This is a full-time on-campus 12-month appointment on our beautiful 52-acre campus in Laurel, MD, on the Baltimore Washington parkway.ResponsibilitiesWork effectively with all stakeholders to grow enrollment for the Department in alignment with the University's mission and visionMaintain high visibility on campus through holding regular office hours, teaching courses, and supporting enrollment eventsPromote the Department by engaging strategic external opportunities to enhance University resourcesManage faculty members within the Department and ensure high quality of the classroom experiencePlan and coordinate all relevant efforts associated with the Department's class offerings and schedulesCommunicate effectively with all constituents including students, faculty, staff, parents, and alumniCollaborate with government and industry partners to provide opportunities for our studentsDemonstrate successful leadership in education and professional serviceRecruit, develop, and retain outstanding facultySupport accreditation and assessment efforts for the DepartmentPerform other duties as requiredQualificationsMaster's or PhD from an accredited institution of higher learning in Computer Science, Cybersecurity, or a closely related discipline10+ years of combined experience in administrative and/or teaching experience as well as professional experience in a related fieldMust be able to work in the U.S. without sponsorshipIndustry experience is a plus and those working full-time in industry are strongly encouraged to applySalary RangeThe salary for this position typically ranges from $90,000 to $110,000 annually, depending on experience and qualifications.
