Analytics Analyst

Position OverviewA private investment firm is hiring an analytics-focused professional to help build the Asset Management analytics function. This is an early hire under new Analytics / AM leadership and will focus on turning messy borrower, collateral, and servicer data into clean reporting, portfolio insights, and scalable workflows.Mandatory Requirements:Strong SQL skills are required.Strong AI fluency is a major priority, including using AI to automate work, speed up development, and solve practical data problems.Python is helpful, but light experience is acceptable if the candidate is strong in SQL, AI, and hands-on data execution.Must be comfortable cleaning and organizing complex borrower, collateral, servicer, and loan-level data.Must be able to act as a key point of contact between Asset Management and Technology.Must want ownership in building analytics processes, not just maintaining reports.Key Focus AreasSpearhead the buildout of analytics for the Asset Management function.Convert messy borrower and collateral data into clean, usable analytics and reporting.Use SQL to extract, validate, reconcile, and structure complex financial datasets.Apply AI tools to automate manual workflows, improve data extraction, and accelerate development.Serve as the primary AM / Tech liaison for data, reporting, and platform needs.Help build dashboards, reporting processes, documentation, and scalable data controls.Support borrowing base reviews, borrower compliance tracking, and portfolio monitoring.Required QualificationsBachelor’s degree in Finance, Computer Science, Data Science, Engineering, Mathematics, or a related quantitative field.2+ years of experience in asset management, private credit, structured finance, investment banking, fintech, asset-backed lending, or a related field.Strong SQL experience.Practical experience with AI / LLM tools such as OpenAI, Anthropic, Azure AI, or similar platforms.Experience working with loan-level data, servicer tapes, collateral files, borrower data, or similar datasets.Familiarity with financial cash flow modeling.Strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and clear communication.Preferred QualificationsPython experience for automation or data analysis.Experience with ETL tools such as dbt, Airflow, or similar platforms.Familiarity with Power BI, Tableau, Sisense, Git, agile workflows, or AI-assisted coding tools.Why Join This TeamThis is a high-ownership role with the chance to help shape an analytics function early, work closely with a practical and supportive manager, and grow as the function expands.
