Quality Control Laboratory Technician

Job Title: Quality Control Laboratory TechnicianJob DescriptionAs a Quality Control Laboratory Technician, you will conduct laboratory tests and analyses to verify raw material, in-process, and final product compliance with quality standards using established testing methods and methodology.Responsibilities+ Ensure adherence to all applicable plant rules, maintenance, and general plant safety rules, reporting any non-compliance immediately.+ Perform routine analytical testing using standardized procedures, calibrated instruments, and quality reagents to ensure accuracy.+ Clean and maintain instrumentation, glassware, and equipment to assure quality and reproducibility of test results.+ Communicate effectively with team members both within and outside the department.+ Interpret data for batch acceptance and provide feedback to Operations.+ Utilize statistical tools to analyze data, make acceptance decisions, and suggest process improvements.+ Maintain data, logs, and records for quality documentation and traceability.+ Write reports to convert raw data into discernible results supporting the release of quality test results.+ Troubleshoot, clean, and maintain equipment to ensure materials meet cleanliness standards necessary for accurate results.+ Participate in the review and documentation of non-conforming products and internal production complaints/issues.Essential Skills+ Chemical analysis and quality control expertise.+ Proficiency in wet chemistry and quality assurance.+ Experience with Gas Chromatography and Water Testing.+ Familiarity with GMP/GLP documentation and SOP knowledge.+ Proficiency in using a LIMS System.+ 1-3 years' experience in a laboratory setting, preferably with industry lab experience.+ Troubleshooting skills.Additional Skills & Qualifications+ BS degree in Chemistry (preferred) or Associate of Science degree in Chemical Technology.+ Prior experience in chemical manufacturing or research is a plus.+ Knowledge of ISO certified facility operations.Work EnvironmentThe position is based in a lab setting within a new plant located in Pasadena, TX. The role involves performing various tests routinely, with results reported on a batch sheet and LIMS System. There is an experienced technical staff member available on-site for support. The lab and production areas are not very clean due to dealing with chemical products, which may not be ideal for candidates with pharmaceutical experience. The work schedule follows a 2-2-3 pattern (6 to 6), with initial training on an 8-hour day shift for 3-4 weeks before transitioning to a rotating 12-hour day and night shift monthly.Job Type & LocationThis is a Contract to Hire position based out of Pasadena, TX.Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $25.00 - $35.00/hr.Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
