Job Title: VMware EngineerLocation: Schenectady, NY (On-site) // Local Candidate OnlyJob Type: ContractExperience: 5+ YearsJob OverviewWe are seeking an experienced Virtual Analyst / VMware Engineer with 4–10 years of overall experience and at least 3+ years of relevant VDI experience in a Windows environment.The candidate will be responsible for designing, provisioning, administering, maintaining, and troubleshooting VDI infrastructure and VMware virtualization environments.The role requires strong hands-on experience with the VMware product suite, including ESXi, Horizon, vCenter, Cloud Volumes, vGPU, DRS, HA, vMotion, and vROps.The candidate will support Windows-based VDI environments along with RHEL/Linux infrastructure.The role involves VDI master-image creation, software installation, patching, incident resolution, storage management, VMware migrations/upgrades, and infrastructure monitoring.The candidate will work in an enterprise environment and manage activities through ServiceNow and Rally while following established governance and operational procedures.Experience Requirements4–10 years of overall IT/infrastructure experience.3+ years of hands-on VDI experience in Windows environments – REQUIRED.Strong hands-on experience with VMware virtualization and VDI technologies.Experience administering enterprise-scale virtual desktop infrastructure.Experience supporting Windows-based virtual machines and VDI master images.Experience with RHEL/Linux operating systems is required.Experience working in production infrastructure environments with incident and change-management processes.VMware / Virtualization SkillsStrong hands-on experience with VMware virtualization technologies.Experience with:VMware ESXiVMware HorizonVMware vCenterVMware Cloud VolumesVMware vGPUVMware DRSVMware HAVMware vMotionVMware vROpsPerform VMware server migrations and virtualization-related upgrades.Configure, administer, monitor, and troubleshoot VMware environments.Perform VM provisioning, configuration, migration, and lifecycle management.Support high-availability and disaster-recovery capabilities within VMware environments.Troubleshoot ESXi host, VM, vCenter, Horizon, storage, and networking issues.Monitor VMware resource utilization and identify performance or capacity issues.Support VMware infrastructure upgrades and maintenance activities.Email: ajitkumar.rai@tekgence.com
