APPLY NOW!!Job DescriptionJoin our team as an Automation Technician, where you will play a crucial role in supporting new data centers in Cedar Rapids, Iowa. Your primary focus will be on maintaining critical infrastructure, ensuring that everything operates smoothly. You will handle service calls, alarms, and system issues, working directly with PLC-controlled systems related to power and facility infrastructure.Responsibilities+ Respond to service calls, alarms, and system issues promptly.+ Troubleshoot I/O, validate signals from field devices, and check control panels and wiring.+ Verify communication of sensors, breakers, and meters.+ Support commissioning and startup activities for new buildings or equipment.+ Assist with I/O checkout, system testing, and startup verification.+ Make PLC or HMI adjustments such as setpoints, alarms, or configuration changes.+ Support the installation, wiring, programming, testing, and commissioning of control panels.Essential Skills+ Minimum of 2 years of experience troubleshooting PLCs.+ Experience troubleshooting automated equipment.+ Hands-on experience in an industrial environment.+ Understanding of PLC I/O systems and field devices.+ Associate's degree in automation, robotics, or a similar field.Additional Skills & Qualifications+ Ability to learn and mechanical aptitude are highly valued.+ Open to candidates with experience in computer science or IT who have hands-on experience in areas such as automotive work, tinkering, farming, or woodworking.Work EnvironmentThis position offers the opportunity to work with a leading provider of industrial automation, electrical engineering, and power services across the Midwest. You will be fully onsite in Marion, with frequent travel to local client sites, including data centers. The role supports data center commissioning and local industrial client servicing. You will work collaboratively with automation engineers and project managers onsite.
