Line Cook
Job Title: Line CookJob Summary: We are seeking a dedicated and skilled line cook to join our kitchen team. The line cook will be responsible for preparing ingredients, setting up cooking stations, and cooking menu items as directed by the head chef or kitchen manager. The ideal candidate will have excellent culinary skills, a strong work ethic, and the ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.Essential Functions:Prepare and cook menu items following recipes and quality standards.Set up and stock stations with necessary supplies, ingredients, and equipment.Ensure food is cooked to the proper temperature and presentation.Maintain cleanliness and organization of workstations.Assist with food preparation tasks, such as chopping, slicing, and marinating.Adhere to food safety and sanitation guidelines.Collaborate with kitchen staff to ensure timely and efficient service.Monitor inventory and report low stock levels to the kitchen manager.Perform other duties as assigned by the head chef or kitchen manager.Qualifications:Proven experience as a line cook or similar role in a restaurant kitchen.Knowledge of cooking techniques, food safety, and kitchen equipment.Ability to work well in a team and communicate effectively.Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed.Physical Requirements:Stand and walk for extended periods during shifts.Lift and carry heavy objects (up to 50 lbs), such as food trays, pots, or kitchen supplies.Perform repetitive motions, such as chopping, stirring, and kneading.Work in a hot and humid environment near ovens, grills, and stoves.Maintain physical stamina to handle long shifts in a fast-paced setting.Oxford Commons is an equal opportunity employer.
