Validation Engineer, Robotics

We're redefining how robots are deployed. Our platform enables users to simulate, test, and optimize entire robotic systems in parallel. By removing the barriers that have kept advanced robotics out of reach for all but the largest players, we're ushering in a new era of manufacturing—one where mass reshoring is not only viable, but inevitable. With our industrial AI platform, we enable companies to design and optimize multi-robot workcells in the cloud, eliminating the need for manual robot programming. Our Resolver technology automatically generates collision-free robot programs by optimizing workcell layouts, task allocation, and robot paths, helping customers increase throughput and reduce the cost of industrial automation before deployment. We are searching for a motivated Robotics Validation Engineer to ensure the quality, reliability, and performance of our robotics software platform. This role focuses on validating complex robotic systems in simulation, including motion planning, workcell design, and optimization workflows. This person will play a vital role in ensuring our technology performs robustly across a wide range of real-world scenarios, helping shape the future of industrial automation.Reporting to the Validation Lead, the Robotics Validation Engineer will be functionally embedded within a Robotics product team, working closely with robotics and software engineers to design and execute validation strategies across our platform. This role blends robotics domain knowledge, software engineering, and test automation, with a strong emphasis on simulation-driven validation and scalable testing systems. In This Position, You WillWork with a team of robotics and software engineers to validate real-world automation workflows using simulation environmentsDesign and develop automated validation frameworks for robotics software, with a focus on scalability and maintainabilityBuild and maintain end-to-end validation scenarios that reflect real customer use cases (e.g., multi-robot workcells, task planning, and optimization workflows)Develop regression, integration, and performance validation to ensure system reliability across releasesAnalyze system behavior in simulation to identify edge cases, failure modes, and performance limitationsPerform exploratory validation of new features and contribute to validation strategy for emerging capabilitiesIdentify, reproduce, and clearly communicate defects, working closely with engineering teams to drive resolutionContribute to CI/CD pipelines to enable continuous validation of the platformSupport field and customer-facing teams in diagnosing and reproducing issues in complex environmentsHelp define validation standards, tools, and best practices in a growing organizationRequirementsRequired qualifications:MS in Robotics, Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field; or BS with equivalent practical experience in robotics, simulation, or complex systems2+ years of experience in software testing, validation, or software developmentExperience working across both Linux and Windows environments, including test development, execution, and debugging in complex systemsExperience developing automated tests or validation frameworks using Python or similar languagesStrong understanding of software engineering practices, including version control and testing methodologiesFamiliarity with robotics concepts such as kinematics, motion planning, or path planningExperience working with simulation environments or validating complex system behaviorStrong analytical and problem-solving skills, with attention to detail in complex systemsStrong communication skills, both verbal and writtenAbility to work in-office (Boston, MA or Berlin, Germany) with flexible scheduling (~50% in-office)Ability to excel in international and collaborative teamsSelf-driven and able to solve challenging technical problemsDesire to work in a fast-paced startup environmentPreferred QualificationsExperience with robotic simulation tools (e.g., Process Simulate, Visual Components, Roboguide, RobotStudio, or similar)Experience validating motion planning or optimization systemsExperience testing or developing C++-based systemsFamiliarity with CI/CD systems (e.g., GitLab CI) and integrating validation into pipelinesExperience with large-scale or distributed validation systemsExposure to industrial robotics or manufacturing environmentsBenefitsUnlimited PTOCommuting Expenses CoveredTelecommunications StipendRealtime Robotics, Inc. is an equal opportunity employer.
