Senior Structural Designer
Client is seeking an experienced Senior Structural Engineer / Project Manager to join our Houston office. This leadership role is ideal for a licensed Professional Engineer who enjoys managing complex structural projects, mentoring engineering teams, building strong client relationships, and delivering innovative structural solutions across a diverse portfolio of projects.The ideal candidate will have extensive experience supporting commercial, industrial, petrochemical, infrastructure, and bridge-related projects while serving as both a technical leader and client-facing project manager.ResponsibilitiesLead structural engineering and design efforts for a variety of projects including:Commercial buildingsIndustrial facilitiesPetrochemical facilitiesManufacturing plantsBridges and transportation structuresMunicipal and infrastructure projectsManage multiple projects simultaneously from concept development through construction completion.Perform and oversee structural analysis and design of:Steel structuresReinforced concrete structuresMasonry structuresFoundations and deep foundation systemsElevated platforms and pipe racksEquipment support structuresBuilding and infrastructure componentsDevelop structural calculations, specifications, reports, and construction documents.Ensure designs comply with applicable building codes, industry standards, and client requirements.Coordinate closely with architects, contractors, owners, and multidisciplinary engineering teams.Serve as the primary point of contact for clients throughout project execution.Lead project planning, budgeting, scheduling, staffing, and resource allocation activities.Mentor and develop junior engineers, EITs, and structural designers.Conduct quality assurance and quality control reviews of engineering deliverables.Participate in client presentations, proposal development, and business development efforts.Support construction administration activities including field observations, RFI responses, submittal reviews, and structural troubleshooting.RequirementsBachelor of Science in Civil Engineering with an emphasis in Structural Engineering from an accredited university.Professional Engineer (PE) License in Texas required.Minimum of 10 years of structural engineering experience.Current Houston-area resident or ability to work onsite in Houston.U.S. Citizen or authorized to work permanently in the United States without sponsorship.Strong experience designing structures for:Commercial buildingsIndustrial facilitiesPetrochemical facilitiesBridges and transportation structuresMunicipal and infrastructure projectsProven project management experience overseeing structural engineering projects from planning through construction.Experience leading engineering teams and coordinating multidisciplinary project efforts.Strong client relationship and business development skills.Extensive knowledge of:IBCASCE 7AISCACIOSHA requirementsApplicable structural design codes and standardsStrong written and verbal communication skills.
