QC Analyst I

Overview The QC Analyst I is an entry-level, non-exempt position thatreports to the QC Management Team. The QC Analyst I is responsible forperforming quality control testing on various state-of-the-artdiagnostic tests, components and standards for the food and beverageindustries. The pay range for this position is \$22.00 to \$31.00 perHour. Compensation Will Be Determined Based On Education, Experience,and other factors in accordance with applicable laws. EssentialFunctions Perform quality control testing on various state-of-the-artdiagnostic test kits, components and standards for the food and beverageindustries Be part of a QC team dedicated to assuring the quality ofthese diagnostic tests for food safety Critically evaluate testing inprocess to determine root cause of out of specification results andcarry out appropriate follow up as needed Prepare and summarize data ina timely manner for review by QC/QA management Ensure that labcleanliness and safety standards are maintained at all times Nothing inthis job description restricts managements right to assign or reassignduties and responsibilities to this job at any time. Knowledge, Skills &Abilities Required: BS or equivalent in Biochemistry or life sciencesrelated field. Excellent attention to detail Excellent verbal andwritten communication skills Familiarity with Microsoft Word, Access,Excel and Outlook Understanding of basic statistics 0 to 2 years QC/QAexperience Available to work Monday through Friday between the hours of8:30 AM and 5:30 PM with some flexibility Preferred: Advanced knowledgeof MS Excel 0 to 2 years GMP/GLP experience Understanding ofaseptic/sterile technique Strong interpersonal skills Diligent anddependable Ability to give and receive feedback Self-motivated PhysicalRequirements: Able to lift and move up to 25 pounds Able to work underthe pressure of tight deadlines Able to visually inspect tests forproper performance and/or defects Able to remain in a stationaryposition for an extended length of time Able to work at a lab bench andat a computer for an extended length of time Able to work for 10 to 15minutes in low temperature environments (4C and -20C) Able to work forup to 4 hours in low humidity environment (\<20% RH) Able to safelyhandle antibiotics and mycotoxins in dry powder and concentrated liquidform in a laboratory setting Able to operate a pipette repeatedly andaccurately for up to 1000 repetitions per day We are an equal employmentopportunity employer.
