MTU AENA employees drive their own success in an environment that recognizes diversity and celebrates achievements.Reporting to the Powerplant Engineering Manager, the Powerplant Engineer II is responsible for the development, maintenance, distribution, and archival of technical documents required for gas turbine engine overhauls on customer aircraft fleets in support of the Geared Turbofan (GTF) engine programs.This role partners closely with Fleet Technical Managers to ensure technical documentation supports optimal management of Fleet Management Program (FMP) and Maintenance Repair & Overhaul (MRO) contracts-balancing cost efficiency, engine reliability, and safety.Essential Functions:Manage shop visits of engines under a variety of contract types including Fleet Management Programs, Fixed-Price Agreements and Maintenance Cost Guarantees to ensure cost targets are achieved while maintaining the highest level of flight safetyMaintain active communication with Resident Center Managers, Fleet Manager, Field Service reps and global Powerplant Engineers to align on status of Work-in-Process (WIP) shop visitsManage routine shop visits and collaborate with regional teams on special investigations for fleet-wide or individual engine eventsSupport and participate in shop-visit cost discussions; provide cost and technical insights to Fleet Managers and Engine Services Finance at Pratt & Whitney (P&W)Coordinate and oversee workscopes performed by approved external vendorsEngage in continuous on-the-job learning to build technical proficiency, with mentorship and guidance from the PPE Technical LeadCompetencies:Strong sense of urgency and ownership; acts decisively in the best interest of the team and enterpriseSelf-directed, confident, and accountable with the ability to identify and resolve issues independentlyEffective planning and prioritization skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks and stakeholdersDemonstrates strong communication and collaboration skills, effectively engaging multiple team members at the same time on shared tasks.Requirements for this position include:Bachelor's or Master's Degree in Engineering or a related technical field4-10 years of relevant engineering experienceSound understanding of engineering concepts, methods, and proceduresDemonstrated ability to drive tasks and deliverables to completionEligible to work in the United States without SponsorshipOccasional travel may be requiredYour Future at MTU Starts Here!Ready to give your career a boost?
