This includes diagnosing mechanical and electrical issues, completing preventative services, and ensuring vehicles meet operational and safety standards. The Mechanic supports the overall functionality and cleanliness of the maintenance shop and ensures proper handling of tools and parts.Key ResponsibilitiesTroubleshooting & Diagnosis: Identify and diagnose mechanical and electrical deficiencies in fleet vehicles using appropriate tools and diagnostic techniques.Repairs & Services: Perform repairs on deficiencies reported during driver pre-trip inspections. Complete oil changes, vehicle services, and lift repairs as needed. Conduct post-repair inspections and test vehicles to ensure proper functioning.Inspections & Recommendations: Inspect vehicles and equipment and provide detailed repair recommendations to shop leadership.Parts Management: Order necessary repair parts and ensure accurate documentation and tracking of parts used.Work Area & Tool Accountability: Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment. Properly handle and account for all assigned tools and equipment.QualificationsPrior experience in fleet, automotive, or diesel vehicle maintenance preferred.Ability to read and interpret repair manuals, technical diagrams, and service documentation.Proficiency with hand tools, power tools, and diagnostic equipment.Strong attention to detail and commitment to safety and quality.Ability to work independently and communicate effectively with shop leadership and drivers.Valid driver's license required; CDL a plus.Work EnvironmentShop environment with exposure to noise, dust, heavy equipment, and potentially hazardous materials.Physical demands include standing for extended periods, lifting up to 50 lbs., and using various hand and power tools.Equal Employment OpportunityTranSouth is an Equal Opportunity Employer committed to creating a diverse and inclusive workplace.
