Safety is a priority for this client and they provide training and direction for all employees to ensure they are able to do their job safely.Job SummaryWe are seeking a proactive and analytical Buyer to support procurement operations by sourcing materials and monitoring their movement to meet production demands. This role plays a critical part in maintaining optimal inventory levels, ensuring material quality standards, and driving cost-effective purchasing strategies. The ideal candidate will be highly organized, detail-oriented, and capable of managing multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.Job DescriptionProcure materials based on engineering and production schedules to maintain planned inventory levelsMonitor and manage supplier performance, including cost, schedule, and scope of assigned subcontractsAssist in developing and executing annual sourcing strategies, including supplier qualification, RFQs, and cost-saving initiativesManage Kanban systems, including setup, supplier onboarding, and daily monitoringReview and take action on New Buy, Late Orders, and Kanban reportsCreate, update, and manage Vendor Managed Inventory (VMI) agreementsCollaborate with suppliers, inspectors, and engineers to resolve quality issues and ensure compliance with material standardsSupport cost-reduction initiatives and supplier projects in coordination with global procurement teamsProcess indirect purchasing and requisitionsAnalyze and communicate Engineering Change Order (ECO) cost impacts and coordinate supplier notifications and PO updatesPerform new part setup and maintenance in ERP systems (e.g., Oracle)Participate in continuous improvement (Kaizen) initiatives within the procurement functionTrack and work toward key performance metrics, including supplier on-time delivery (OTD) and incoming quality standardsAssist with safety audits, supplier audits, and performance evaluations, including corrective action plansResolve receiving, inspection, and accounts payable discrepanciesSupport inventory audits and month-end reconciliation activitiesMaintain accurate procurement records, including p-card reconciliation and expense trackingShift: 8am-5pm or 7-4pm M -FSkills Required1-3 years of experience in procurement, supply chain, or a related roleStrong analytical skills, including the ability to evaluate bills of materials for cost and lead-time accuracyExcellent organizational and multitasking abilitiesEffective communication and problem-solving skillsPreferred Qualifications:Coursework or certifications in supply chain management or procurementExperience with ERP systems (e.g., Oracle)Familiarity with continuous improvement methodologies (e.g., Kaizen)EducationBachelor's degree in Supply Chain, Business, or a related fieldPay Rate$22 - $29.50 per hour (Compensation will be offered within this posted range based on experience, skills, and market factors)
