Equipment Technician

Job Description Position SummaryThe Equipment Technician is responsible for providing maintenance and service for branch equipment, other than company vehicles. This includes troubleshooting, diagnosing, and repairing small engines and all other equipment used for lawn applications.Primary ResponsibilitiesRepair and maintenance of all equipmentMaintain the restricted status of chemical storage facility and keep it in a safe, clean, and orderly statusMaintain the facility in a clean and orderly fashionEnsure trash and debris are removed from the groundsTransport vehicles and equipment for repair outside the facilityProvide assistance with filling tanks with fertilizers and pesticidesOffload and Inventory deliveriesPPE must be worn and used in accordance with the instructions provided. (PPE will be provided)Other Functions and ResponsibilitiesPerform other duties as assignedRequired Qualifications / AttributesMust possess a valid Tennessee driver's licenseMust have small engine repair experienceDriving record must pass insurability testMust obtain TDA Commercial Applicator certificate license within 30 days of employment. Training provided and fees paid by Emerald Island.Must obtain forklift certification within 30 days of employmentBe able to demonstrate the math skills necessary to read fill charts and correctly measure liquids and solidsMust be at least 18 years or olderSaturdays as neededEducation and ExperienceMinimum of High School diploma or equivalent1-2 years of related experienceForklift Certified (Preferred)OSHA Certified (Preferred)Minimum Physical RequirementsAbility to stand for extended periodsAbility to use computer keyboard and monitor for extended periodsWalking, standing, bending, reaching, and twistingAble to lift 75 lbs.Repetitive use of hands*Emerald Island is committed to a diverse and inclusive workplace.
