District Instructional Coordinator

This position requires mathematic curriculum knowledge and experience (Bluebonnet curriculum preferred) Position Title: Instructional Coordinator Reports To: Assistant Superintendent of Curriculum and Instruction Contract Length: 202 Days Compensation: To be determined Primary Purpose: Provide leadership, coordination, and job-embedded instructional coaching to support the development and implementation of a rigorous and aligned instructional program. The Instructional Coordinator works directly with core content teachers to strengthen instructional practices, promote student achievement, and ensure fidelity to district curriculum expectations. Qualifications: Education/Certification:Bachelor's degree from an accredited university (required)Master's degree (preferred)Valid Texas teaching certificate (required) Experience:Minimum of five (5) years successful classroom teaching experienceDemonstrated instructional leadership experienceExperience in curriculum development and coaching preferred Special Knowledge/Skills:Deep understanding of curriculum design, instruction, and assessment aligned to TEKSStrong skills in instructional coaching and adult learningAbility to analyze and interpret student performance data to guide instructionEffective communication, collaboration, and interpersonal skillsKnowledge of research-based instructional strategies and digital learning tools Major Responsibilities and Duties: Instructional Coaching & SupportServe as the district's lead instructional coach for Grades 6-12 core academic areasCollaborate directly with teachers through modeling, co-planning, observation, and feedbackGuide lesson internalization and implementation of high-impact instructional strategiesSupport teachers in analyzing data and adjusting instruction to meet student needsAssist with development and implementation of classroom interventions and enrichment Curriculum Alignment & ImplementationFacilitate the review, development, and refinement of curriculum documents, unit plans, and assessmentsEnsure instructional alignment with TEKS and vertical/horizontal coherence across grade levelsPromote the use of high-quality instructional materials and digital toolsMonitor curriculum implementation and provide targeted instructional support Professional LearningDesign and lead professional development sessions for teachersFacilitate content-area collaboration and professional learning communitiesSupport new teachers with curriculum orientation and instructional guidanceShare up-to-date research, strategies, and innovations to build instructional capacity Collaboration & CommunicationPartner with campus administrators to support instructional improvement effortsMaintain regular communication with the Assistant Superintendent regarding priorities and progressSupport consistent messaging around instructional goals and expectations Additional DutiesComply with district, state, and federal policies and proceduresMaintain confidentiality and demonstrate ethical, professional conductTravel between campuses as neededPerform other duties as assigned Working Conditions: Mental Demands/Physical Demands/Environmental Factors:Frequent travel between campusesOccasional prolonged or irregular hoursAbility to maintain emotional control under stressUse of standard office equipment and technologyOccasional light lifting (up to 15 pounds) Note: This is a non-supervisory position that plays a key leadership role in supporting instructional quality and student achievement districtwide.
