PCB Layout Designer

Job Title: Electrical EngineerJob DescriptionThe PCB Layout Designer plays a critical role in the execution of printed circuit board (PCB) layout activities. This position works closely with electrical engineers, mechanical engineers, and cross-functional product development teams to produce detailed PCB layouts and complete manufacturing documentation using industry-standard CAD tools such as Altium, PADS, and Xpedition. The role supports product development across a variety of regulated and commercial product types.Essential FunctionsManage PCB libraries, component placement, layout execution, and design reviewsDevelop PCB layout solutions for complex, multi-layer printed circuit boardsLead PCB layout reviews, including high-speed design feedback such as crosstalk analysis and best-practice strategiesCollaborate with cross-functional product development teams to support product development effortsMaintain and manage PADS libraries and associated CAD assetsSupport project quoting for PCB layout work based on customer requirements and engineering design directionStay current with high-speed PCB design techniques, including material selection, layer stack-up construction, and manufacturing guidelines, and apply them as appropriateSupport electronic component selection and qualification in collaboration with the engineering teamCreate complete engineering documentation required for PCBA manufacturing, including schematics, bills of materials (BOMs), and assembly drawingsWork within a multi-disciplinary engineering environment consisting of electrical hardware and mechanical engineersParticipate in departmental and program meetings to ensure continuity and alignment across teamsDemonstrate professionalism, respect, and collaboration at all levels while contributing to a positive team environmentMentor junior designers and team members as appropriateMandatory Qualifications* Minimum of 10 years of relevant PCB layout and CAD design experience* Advanced proficiency in PCB CAD tools, including Altium, PADS, Xpedition, or similar softwarePreferred Qualifications10+ years of relevant PCB layout experiencePrior experience working in a project-based or consulting-style environmentStrong verbal and written communication skillsProven experience working within multi-disciplinary engineering teamsJob Type & LocationThis is a Contract to Hire position based out of Cleveland, OH.Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $31.25 - $38.46/hr.Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
