Registered Nurse- TRIAGE NURSE (48061)

SUMMARY:This position is primarily responsible for providing general nursing care to patients and will strive to provide these services in a compassionate, professional, ethical, and knowledgeable fashion. The role will include, but is not limited to: the assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of the patients' status, plan of care, and goal achievement. The Registered Nurse understands and is aware of the potential exposure to internal and external hazardous materials including but not limited to: blood and blood borne pathogens, infectious/communicable diseases, noise, excessive physical injury from patients, airborne dusts, fumes, and gases.Essential Responsibilities:Under the general direction of the Clinic Director, the Registered Nurse performs a variety of complex, professional, analytical, and confidential medical services. Duties include:Perform all nursing duties in accordance with the state Nursing Act specific to the state you are working in, while adhering to all facility policies and procedures.Perform routine nursing care to assigned patients, while utilizing age specific and universal precaution practices at all times.Record medical histories and symptomsParticipate actively in the team-based care modelAdministers medications, immunizations, performs medication reconciliation. Titrate medications/manages refills per clinic guidelines · Takes temperature, pulse, blood pressure, and other vital signs to detect deviations from normal and assess condition of patient.Clinic skills include but are not limited to: vital signs, provides wound care, point of care testing, administration of immunization, and phlebotomyMust be able to perform various sensory requirements such as; vision, speech, smell, touch, manual dexterity, fine motor skills, and hearing in order to assess and treat the patient accurately.Observes patient, records significant conditions and reactions, and notifies supervisor or Physician of patient's condition and reaction to drugs, treatments, and significant incidents.Initiates a patient education plan according to the individualized needs of the patient, as prescribed by Physician and/or hospital policy including patient and family instruction.Effectively utilizes population health methodologies such as patient registry, inreach, outreach, care protocols and team-based care to improve patient and population outcomesPrepares rooms, sterile instruments, equipment, and supplies for surgery.Must be able to work at all applicable locations.Availability to work all operational hours as needed.Other tasks and projects as assigned by supervisor, manager and/or director.Provider Extender Support:* Act as a clinical extension of the provider by:o Conducting pre-visit chart prepo Gathering histories and vitalso Assisting in procedureso Communicating provider care plans to patients* Provide nursing interventions per standing orders and provider direction (e.g., medication administration, wound care, immunizations).* Monitor labs, diagnostic results, and medication refills, and follow up with patients as directed by the provider.Secondary Responsibilities* Attends workshops, training, and meetings as needed, and as requested.* Performs other duties as assigned by supervisor. Competencies:Other duties as assigned.Assume general administration duties including fax, filing, copying, etc.Attend webinars, workshops, training and/or meetings as requested by the Clinic Director .Perform special project research and data collection activities as requested by the Clinic Director ; analyze and interpret data, and prepare reports.Coordinate special staff events, prepares, and distributes promotional flyers for such events.
