Middle School Science Teacher

Politz seeks a dedicated and engaging Middle School Science Teacher to join our middle school faculty. The ideal candidate will foster curiosity, critical thinking, and a love for science while helping students develop a strong foundation in biological and life science concepts. This is a part-time, afternoon position that meets daily. Schedule: Monday–Thursday, 12:50–4:00 PM Responsibilities: Teach Middle School students core topics in Science, including cells, genetics, ecosystems, human biology, and the scientific method. Plan and deliver engaging, age-appropriate lessons aligned with Politz’s academic standards and values using our science curriculum. Incorporate hands-on activities, lab demonstrations, and real-world applications of scientific principles. Foster a classroom environment that encourages inquiry, respect, and collaboration. Assess student understanding through classwork, quizzes, projects, and participation. Communicate effectively with students, parents, and administrators about student progress. Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in Biology, Life Science, Science Education, or a related field (Master’s preferred). Teaching experience, preferably with middle school students. Strong classroom management and communication skills. Enthusiasm for teaching and inspiring young learners. Commitment to the mission and values of a Jewish day school environment.
