RMA Assistant
Akkodis is seeking a – “RMA Assistant (Return Merchandise Authorization)” for a Contract position with a client located in Carson, CA.Pay Range: $20 - $21.50/hr. (The rate/salary may be negotiable based on experience, education, geographic location, and other factors.).Role Summary: The RMA Assistant is responsible for managing all incoming Return Material Authorization (RMA) items from receipt through initial processing and routing. This role ensures accurate documentation, proper material handling, and timely communication with internal teams. The RMA Assistant serves as the gatekeeper of RMA inventory and plays a key role in maintaining traceability, compliance, and workflow efficiency.Key Responsibilities1. RMA Intake & Verification• Receive incoming RMA shipments from the receiving dock.• Unpack and inspect all returned materials for accuracy and completeness.• Verify customer information, part numbers, part names, quantities, and RMA numbers.• Attach a RED RMA Tag to each item, ensuring all required information is clearly recorded (Customer Name, Part No., Part Name, Qty, RMA Number, Date Received).2. RMA Inventory Control• Store RMA packages in the designated RMA cage or assigned holding area.• Maintain accurate tracking of all RMA items; act as the RMA gatekeeper.• Route items to the appropriate internal team (RTV, Quality, Engineering, Production, etc.) based on established workflow.• Ensure proper chain-of-custody and traceability for all RMA materials.3. Nonconformance (NC) Documentation• Create or update Nonconformance (NC) reports as required for incoming RMA items.• Conduct initial research to support NC creation:o Manufactured partso Purchased parts• Collaborate with Quality and other departments to ensure accurate and complete NC documentation.4. Cross Functional Support• Communicate with internal teams regarding RMA status, missing information, or discrepancies.• Support continuous improvement efforts related to RMA flow, documentation accuracy, and inventory control.• Assist with other material-handling or administrative tasks as assigned.Physical & Work Environment Requirements• Ability to lift and move packages as required (frequently 30–50+ pounds).• Mix of office/data entry work and warehouse activity.• Frequent sitting, standing, walking, and material handling.• Standard business hours (Monday–Friday), with occasional overtime during peak periods.Required Qualifications• Experience in warehouse, receiving, quality, or materials handling preferred.• Strong attention to detail and accuracy.• Ability to follow structured processes and maintain documentation.• Basic computer skills (Microsoft Outlook/Excel, ERP/MRP systems experience is a plus).• Strong communication and teamwork skills.• High school diploma or equivalent; associate or bachelor’s degree preferred.Equal Opportunity Employer/Veterans/DisabledBenefit offerings available for our associates include medical, dental, vision, life insurance, short-term disability, additional voluntary benefits, an EAP program, commuter benefits, and a 401K plan.
