A group of "Skunks" - some of the most innovative, strategic and visionary thinkers around.This position will manage a Skunk Works Software Engineering Team that is passionate and known for pushing what's possible with exciting advanced technology and integration.What You Will Be DoingSkunk Works program work force management (reassignments) and placements, recruitment and selection of new employees and terminations) and personnel management (training, mentoring, career development, performance and compensation, and promotions).Management responsibility will include collaboration with Skunk Works Programs, Aeronautics Programs, other Business Units, and Industry. The successful candidate will be expected to support communications with all levels of employees, customers, and industry from engineer up to executive. Strong skills in conflict resolution, proactive communication, building collaborative relationships and other "soft skills" are desired.Support pursuit and management of internal and customer sponsored technology roadmaps.Interface with LM Aero, other LM business units and external customers and suppliers to develop new technologies and transition them to LM Aero programs.Support technical execution and leadership of software portfolio IRAD and CRAD projects, including existing efforts aimed at advancing the mission capabilities of our manned and unmanned systems.Who You AreThe ideal candidate will be an aspiring leader with some skill and knowledge managing small groups of software engineers. The candidate must have a good understanding of agile software.The ideal candidate will understand cost and schedule drivers in support of their engineers on a program in order to find and drive solutions. Previous program management experience executing highly dynamic projects within short timelines while meeting/exceeding earned value objectives is desired.Applicants selected will be subject to a government security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information.Candidates must possess an Interim Secret clearance to start.Basic Qualifications:Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experienceExperience in software engineering or related fieldTechnical leadership experienceDesired Skills:Experience in Project ManagementExperience shaping and leading a diverse team in a dynamic business environmentExperience in conflict resolution, proactive communication, and building collaborative relationshipsIntegration and test experience with large complex software systemsPresentation experienceExperience developing detailed plans in support of technical assignmentsExperience with Agile Software Development.Experience with C++, Java, LinuxExperience working ADP or similar programsExperience working with various engineering disciplines to derive and decompose requirementsExperience working in technical teams across a virtual environmentExperience with Open Mission Systems (OMS) standard and UCI message setExperience in System Integration & TestAbility to Travel at least 10%Security Clearance Statement: This position requires a government security clearance, you must be a US Citizen for consideration.Clearance Level: SecretOther Important Information You Should KnowExpression of Interest: By applying to this job, you are expressing interest in this position and could be considered for other career opportunities where similar skills and requirements have been identified as a match. The specific weekly schedule will be discussed during the hiring process.Work Schedules: Lockheed Martin supports a variety of alternate work schedules that provide additional flexibility to our employees. Schedules range from standard 40 hours over a five day work week while others may be condensed.
