Louisa's Electronics in Durango, Colorado is now hiring a Technician Assistant. The position requires laborer assistance in residential construction low voltage prewiring and trim, installation of technology systems including A/V equipment, networking, security and surveillance. Employee will work primarily at off-site construction and installation projects. Employee will perform hands-on installations, assist in programming and troubleshooting. Employee will be responsible for timeliness of work. Previous experience is NOT required. Duties include: Wiring and installing distributed audio systems, home theater systems, home automation systems and networking various wireless devices. Mechanical assembly of TV and projector mounts, racks and equipment. Installation and termination of cables and connectors. Service of existing installations, with interface to clients and sales team. Use of electric hand and power tools in all phases of construction, as well as for product installation and assembly. Use of ladders and comfort working at heights. Keeping timelines, work order documentation and inventory management. Communicate effectively in both written and verbal manner to all related trades, sales team, management, and above all with the client. Some lifting of equipment up to 75lbs. Additionally, the ideal applicant shall also have a high attention to detail and an inherent desire to do good work. Other requirements are as follows: Experience working in construction. Must be well-organized and have a clean appearance. Must be able to read, write and speak English clearly. Must pass a background check. Must have a clean driving record and hold a valid US driver's license.
