Join us in providing cutting-edge mechanical solutions and a customer-focused approach.Role DescriptionThis is a full-time, on-site role for a Mechanical Design Engineer specializing in HVAC and plumbing systems, located in Frederick, MD. The Mechanical Design Engineer is responsible for designing, analyzing, and coordinating HVAC and plumbing systems for commercial and industrial projects. This role involves preparing construction documents, performing load calculations, and ensuring designs meet code requirements, project specifications, and client expectations.Key ResponsibilitiesDesign HVAC systems including heating, ventilation, air conditioning, and exhaust systemsPerform load calculations (heating/cooling) using industry software (e.g., Trane Trace, Carrier HAP)Develop equipment selections, ductwork layouts, and piping systemsPrepare detailed engineering drawings using AutoCAD and/or Revit (BIM)Coordinate designs other tradesReview project specifications, codes, and standards (ASHRAE, IPC, IMC, NFPA, etc.)Conduct site visits, field surveys, and construction support as neededAssist with submittal reviews, RFIs, and construction administrationEnsure designs meet energy efficiency and sustainability requirementsSupport project managers with scheduling, budgeting, and technical input QualificationsRequired QualificationsBachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or related fieldProfessional Engineer (PE) license2–8+ years of experience in HVAC and/or plumbing design (depending on level) Proficiency in AutoCAD and/or Revit Familiarity with load calculation software (HAP, Trace, or similar) Strong understanding of mechanical and plumbing codes and standards Ability to read and interpret construction documents Strong problem-solving and analytical skillsBenefits & Other OfferingsHealth, dental, and vision insurance Short- and Long-Term Disability Insurance Whole Life Insurance with Long Term Care  Paid time off and paid holidays 401(k) Career growth and professional development opportunitiesCollaborative and supportive work environmentEmployment Type: Full-Time *Salary will be determined based on qualifications and experience*R.W. Warner, Inc. is an Equal Opportunity Employer and does not discriminate based on race, color, religion, sex, national origin, age, disability, or any other protected status.
