Finisher Job DescriptionA finisher's job function is to stain, tone, and apply finishes to Architectural Millwork. A spray finisher should have knowledge of specialty finishes, different wood types, as well as a familiarity with spray equipment and color mixing and equipment. Tasks can include spray finishing with all types of finishes, color mixing, and shading. Finishers must be able to multi-task, meet deadlines, communicate, and work well with others.Overall ResponsibilitiesAble to operate and care for a spray gun and lines.Comfortable with using various finishing techniques and types of finishes.Understand common defects, what causes paint failures, and how to correct them.Prepare and paint components used in production and assembly. Preparations of all components prior to finishing. Scuff/roughen surfaces in between coats. Review work orders to ensure familiarization with requirements of the job. Ensure proper finish is being used and cross check with color sample.Mix custom Stains and Toners to obtain a desired color or shade.Color matching based off a control sample. Checking coverage of finishes as proceeding through the finishing process. Ensure quality control for coating thickness, scuffing, and quality. Inspect each coat of finish for pits, runs, or voids.Ability to complete touch ups and repairs.Check masking and ensure non-painted areas are properly masked off. Work in a face-paced environment while paying attention to detail when producing high-end finishes.Requirements5+ years of experience in spray finishingEye for detail and color matchingComply with safety regulations.Must be able to lift 25+ pounds.Ability to work within a scheduled number of hours and adapt to sudden changes. Must be able to work overtime as needed. Two shifts available to choose from:Day shift: 6:00am-2:30pm (Monday-Friday)Night Shift: 2:00pm-12:30am (Monday-Thursday)
