Data Analyst Intern

Data Analytics Graduate Intern Location: Tempe, AZ (Onsite) Compensation: $28–$30/hour, depending on qualifications and portfolio Employment Type: Full-Time Internship Position Overview We're seeking a highly motivated Data Analytics Graduate Intern to support our client's Business Transformation initiatives. This internship provides hands-on experience working with operational and financial data to develop reports, dashboards, and analytics that drive business decisions across multiple departments. You'll collaborate with business stakeholders and experienced analytics professionals to build Power BI dashboards, develop data models, support ETL processes, and deliver actionable insights. This is an excellent opportunity for recent graduates to gain enterprise-level experience while building a strong foundation in business intelligence and data analytics. This is a full-time, onsite position in Tempe, Arizona supporting our client. High-performing interns may be considered for future full-time employment based on performance and business needs. Eligibility Requirements To be considered, candidates must: Have graduated in 2026 or earlier or be an alumnus/alumna of an accredited college or university. Be a U.S. Citizen or Green Card holder (Permanent Resident). Be authorized to work in the United States without current or future employer sponsorship. Be available to work onsite in Tempe, Arizona. Primary Responsibilities Build, maintain, and enhance interactive Power BI dashboards and reports. Write SQL queries to extract, transform, and analyze business data. Support ETL (Extract, Transform, Load) processes and data integration activities. Develop and maintain data models and reusable datasets for reporting. Create meaningful visualizations that communicate business performance and trends. Perform ad hoc data analysis to support business initiatives and operational improvements. Validate data accuracy and assist with data quality monitoring. Document data sources, business definitions, and reporting logic. Present findings and recommendations to business stakeholders. Required Qualifications Bachelor's or Master's degree in: Data Analytics Business Analytics Computer Science Information Systems Statistics Mathematics Finance Or a related quantitative field Demonstrated experience with: SQL ETL concepts and data transformation Data visualization using Power BI, Tableau, or similar BI tools Data modeling and relational databases Strong Microsoft Excel skills, including PivotTables, Power Query, formulas, and lookups. Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills. Self-motivated, detail-oriented, and eager to learn. Preferred Qualifications Experience with any of the following is a plus: Power BI (DAX, calculated columns, measures) Python or R Power Automate Azure SQL, Snowflake, or other cloud data platforms Git/GitHub Portfolio Requirement Candidates must provide a portfolio or be willing to demonstrate examples of their work during the interview process. Portfolio examples may include: Power BI dashboards Tableau visualizations SQL projects ETL workflows Data models GitHub repositories Academic capstone projects Research projects Kaggle competitions Internship or freelance work Applicants should be prepared to explain their approach, methodology, and results during the interview process.
