Project Accountant

ResponsibilitiesMaintain accurate project financial records, including job costs, budgets, and forecastsAssist with monthly cost tracking, variance analysis, and financial reportingPrepare and submit client billings, including AIA progress billingsMonitor accounts receivable and support collection effortsReview subcontractor pay applications and track retainageSupport change order tracking and ensure accurate cost allocationPartner with Project Managers to provide financial insights and support decision-makingAssist with project closeout activities, including reconciliations and final reportingEnsure compliance with company policies, accounting standards, and contract requirementsSupport audit requests and maintain organized financial documentationQualificationsBachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (open to working experience)2–3 years of accounting experience, preferably in construction or project-based environmentsBasic understanding of job cost accounting and financial reportingFamiliarity with AIA billing and percentage-of-completion accounting is a plusExperience with ERP/accounting systems (e.g., Viewpoint, CMiC, or similar) preferredProficiency in Microsoft ExcelStrong attention to detail and organizational skillsAbility to manage multiple priorities in a deadline-driven environmentStrong communication and collaboration skills
