This role offers the opportunity to work closely with gallery leadership on exhibitions, artist relations, and strategic development, while maintaining the high standards and relationships that define the gallery.About the RoleWeems Gallery is seeking a dynamic, highly organized Gallery Manager to lead sales and retail operations, and support the continued success of our established fine art gallery. Reporting directly to the Owner, the Manager oversees daily gallery operations, a small team of gallery associates, and acts as the primary point of contact for the gallery’s roster of artists. As the most senior member of the staff, the Gallery Manager is instrumental in the gallery’s growth and reputation. This role is essential for an individual who finds professional fulfillment in building great relationships with clients, nurturing the careers of contemporary artists, and managing small teams. This is a full-time position that requires physical presence during gallery hours (including Saturdays) and for key events and art fairs as needed. Primary Responsibilities Oversee daily gallery operations and ensure a welcoming, professional environmentBuild and maintain strong relationships with artists, collectors, and clientsManage art sales, client communications, and follow-throughManage small team of gallery associates Coordinate exhibitions, including logistics, installation, and eventsOversee inventory management, art displays, records, and gallery systemsCollaborate closely on exhibition planning and gallery programming with Gallery leadershipRequirements & QualificationsProfessional Experience: 5+ years of experience in a commercial gallery, auction house, or arts organization, with at least 2 years in a management or senior operational capacityPassion: must demonstrate enthusiasm and serious interest in contemporary and fine artEducational Background: BA in Business, Arts Leadership, or a related fieldBusiness Acumen: Professional presence and confidence in client-facing and high-value sales environmentsLeadership Style: Strong interpersonal and communication skills, enjoyment of collaborating as a team, and creative problem-solving.
