Private Dining Room AttendantThe Glen is seeking a highly motivated team member to join our Culinary Team as a Private Dining Room Attendant. The Glen, a Life Plan Community is seeking an on-call PRN experienced server for our new Independent Living community. The Glen places emphasis on the value of connection.Shift: 2:00 P.M. - 7:00 pm (To work 3 to 4 nights a week) Tuesday, Wednesday & Saturday (flexibility is possible)Essential Functions: Responsible for providing quality food service to residents and guests under sanitary conditions and for providing assistance in all dietary functions as directed in accordance with established dietary policies and procedures.Qualifications/Requirements:High school or equivalent preferredPrevious dining room attendant or server experience and/or training preferredCompletion of ServeSafe course upon hire.Must be a people-oriented individual, have excellent oral communication skills, and the ability to work with a diverse group of people.Computer skills appropriate to job tasks include Point-of-Sale systemOrganizational and time-management skillsAbility to read, speak, write, and follow oral and written instructionsServer Duties and Responsibilities:Greets guests and presents them with the menuInforms guests about the special items for the day and menu changes if anySuggests food and beverages to the guestTakes food and beverage orders from the guest on the order taking pads or on the handheld Point of sale (POS) systemObtaining revenues, issuing receipts, accepting paymentsPerforming cleaning tasks as needed or directed by supervisor.Filling in for absent staff as neededPunches the order on the POS machine and makes sure to enter the special requirements made by the guest while ordering the food; (example no garlic, less spicy, without egg, etc.)Communicates to the guest and provides assistance with their queriesCoordinates with kitchen staff to ensure smooth operation and resident/guest satisfactionServes food and beverage to the guest as per the course of orderObserves guests and ensures their satisfaction with the food and servicePromptly responds to guest with any additional requestBus tables when guests leave.Maintains proper dining experience, delivering items, fulfilling customer needs, offering desserts and drinks, removing courses, replenishing utensils, refilling glassesAdheres to grooming and appearance standards consistentlyMust have some familiarity with basic cooking skills; (example salad preparation, dessert plating, etc.)Assists with stocking and maintains the dining room par stock levels and side stationHelps other areas of the restaurant such as answering telephones and completing financial transactions for the Take-OutCloses the shift on the POS terminalOther duties assigned by supervisor or manager including but not limited to this listAbility to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions and decimals.Physical Demands:Must be able to perform in a high-traffic, high-energy environment.Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds; pull, push up to 90 pounds.Finger and hand dexterity to operate small equipment and perform job tasks.Significant stooping, bending, standing, walkingWorks in warm, humid environment with exposure to sudden temperature changes when entering the freezer or walk-inBenefit Package:Competitive pay-rates403 (b) Retirement PlanThe Glen is always looking for caring individuals excited to be part of an active, nurturing community.You can also pick up an application or turn in an application at the Human Resources building Monday-Friday between 9 to 11 a.m. and 2 to 4 p.m.Message from CEO: The Glen is a place where you can make a difference, exceed expectations and be a part of a TEAM.
