Senior Accountant:On behalf of our Finance client, Procom is searching for a Senior Accountant for a permanent role. This position is onsite at our client’s Arlington, Virginia office.Senior Accountant - Job Description:The Senior Accountant will partner closely with the Accounting Manager to support general ledger activities, accounts payable, accounts receivable, financial reporting, fixed asset accounting, and other key accounting functions. This role plays a critical part in ensuring the accuracy and integrity of financial records while supporting compliance, reporting, and process improvement initiatives.Senior Accountant - Responsibilities: Perform complex account reconciliations to ensure the accuracy and integrity of the general ledger. Maintain and support accounting systems, including chart of accounts management, account mapping, and reconciliation of subsidiary ledgers to the general ledger. Prepare and submit required financial reports to various government agencies and regulatory bodies, serving as the primary point of contact for follow-up inquiries and audits. Manage fixed asset accounting, including capital additions, retirements, depreciation calculations, asset forecasting, and maintaining fixed asset records within SAP. Support month-end and year-end close activities through journal entry preparation, account analysis, financial statement preparation, variance analysis, and management reporting. Coordinate and oversee accounting activities performed by offshore accounting support teams, ensuring accuracy, timeliness, and adherence to established processes. Assist in the development, implementation, and documentation of accounting policies, procedures, and internal controls. Support treasury and cash management activities, including banking relationships, wire transfers, cash reporting, and review of bank reconciliations. Participate in the implementation and optimization of accounting systems, tools, and process improvements. Provide support for accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll reconciliations, expense reporting, and other general accounting functions. Review and analyze monthly overhead and departmental expense reports. Assist with annual budgeting, long-range planning, and periodic forecast updates. Support special projects and additional accounting responsibilities as assigned.Senior Accountant - Mandatory Skills: Master's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field with 4–6 years of relevant experience; OR Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field with 5–8 years of relevant experience; OR Associate's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field with 8–10 years of relevant experience. Hands-on experience with SAP or a similar ERP platform. Strong experience with general ledger reconciliations and complex account analysis. Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English. Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Excel, Outlook, and other Microsoft Office applications. Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.Senior Accountant – Nice-to-Have Skills: Experience working with both domestic and international stakeholders. Advanced Excel skills, including data analysis and reporting capabilities. Working knowledge of basic tax regulations and compliance requirements. Strong critical thinking skills with the ability to identify process improvements and resolve complex accounting issues.
