For information on our international network visit www.colas.com.Job SummaryThe Project Manager is responsible for planning, coordinating, and overseeing asphalt paving and construction projects from award through closeout. This role ensures projects are delivered safely, on schedule, within budget, and in compliance with quality standards. The Project Manager works closely with operations, estimators, field supervisors, subcontractors, and clients to drive successful outcomes across the Mid‑West Central Region.Main ResponsibilitiesManage all phases of construction projects, including pre‑construction planning, scheduling, execution, monitoring, and closeoutDevelop and maintain project schedules, budgets, cost reports, and forecastsCoordinate materials, equipment, subcontractors, and labor to support project timelinesTrack job costs and productivity, identify variances, and implement corrective actionsReview and approve invoices, subcontractors pay applications, and change ordersAssist in project buyout, cost control, and profitability analysisServe as the primary point of contact for owners, engineers, inspectors, and subcontractorsLead project meetings and communicate progress, risks, and milestonesBuild and maintain strong client relationships to support repeat businessPromote and enforce Barrett Paving Materials’ safety policies and proceduresQualificationsRequiredBachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or related field or equivalent construction experience3–7+ years of experience managing paving, asphalt, or heavy civil construction projectsStrong understanding of construction scheduling, cost control, and project documentationProficiency with Microsoft Office; experience with construction management software preferredValid driver’s license and ability to travel within the Mid‑West Central RegionPreferredExperience with DOT, municipal, and commercial paving projectsKnowledge of asphalt production, placement, and construction methodsExperience with estimating, bidding, and project handoffSkills And CompetenciesStrong leadership and decision‑making skillsExcellent communication and organizational abilitiesAbility to manage multiple projects in a fast‑paced environmentProblem‑solving mindset with attention to detailCommitment to safety, quality, and continuous improvementColas Inc.
