Farmhouse Cafe Lead Worker

Sassy Cow Creamery is seeking a Lead Worker and Assistant to the Manager for our Farmhouse Cafe and Retail Store. In this role, you will assist in overseeing the café, coffee, ice cream and retail operations. The preferred candidate will have culinary experience and enjoy working with youth and young adults in a work setting. The job requires approximately 40 hours per week with some nights and weekends each month. Sassy Cow Creamery is a family farmstead creamery and café located in Columbus, Wis., 20 minutes east of Madison. The Creamery bottles 6,000 gallons of milk daily and makes 48,000 gallons of ice cream a year supplying over 300 stores, restaurants, coffee houses and food service accounts. Each summer over 10,000 people visit Sassy Cow Creamery for farm and creamery tours. Primary duties and responsibilities: Maintain inventory levels. Assist in training staff in service, food quality and safety, customer satisfaction and cross-train as necessary. Continuously provide staff with verbal recognition, direction, and support. Communicate with staff to keep them informed of procedures. Assist with menu changes and adjustments based on seasonal availability. Respond with superior service to a diverse customer base. Maintain a safe and clean work space. Preferred qualifications: 1+ years’ culinary experience. Must be at least 18 years of age. Reliable, highly motivated and energetic. Excellent communication skills. Detailed orientated and strong focus on food safety. Ability to work well under pressure and in a fast-paced environment. Experience with delegating tasks and maintaining fast speed of service. Willing to work a flexible schedule. Positive attitude while creating a positive culture. Ability to stand, walk, reach and bend for at least eight hours. Ability to lift up to 30lbs without assistance Education/Experience: High School Diploma or GED equivalent.
