Technical Support Technician I (Data Center)Location: Chantilly, VA (Onsite), Sterling, VA (On-Site)Duration: 6-month contract (potential for extension or conversion)Rate: ($20-25/hr - based on YOE)About the RoleWe are seeking an entry-level Technical Support Technician I to join a fast-paced data center environment. This role is ideal for someone with hands-on experience or strong interest in computer hardware, troubleshooting, and IT infrastructure.You’ll work alongside experienced technicians to support critical systems, resolve technical issues, and ensure high service availability.What You’ll DoPerform server rack installations and hardware setups (“rack and stack”)Troubleshoot and complete hardware break/fix on components such as CPU, RAM, and motherboardsDiagnose and resolve basic network connectivity issuesRespond to operational incidents impacting system availabilityEscalate complex technical issues to senior technicians or management as neededParticipate in maintenance activities and change management processesContribute to documentation and process improvementsWhat We’re Looking ForRequired Qualifications1+ year of experience in computer hardware troubleshooting and repairBasic understanding of server hardware and componentsFamiliarity with networking fundamentals (IP, connectivity, etc.)Ability to lift up to 40 lbs (and assist with heavier team lifts)Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work under pressureCustomer-focused mindset with good communication skillsHigh school diploma or equivalentNice to HaveExperience working in a data center or IT support environmentExposure to change management or scheduled maintenance activitiesExperience documenting technical issues or contributing to process improvementsWork EnvironmentOnsite role in a data center settingPhysically active role involving hardware handling and movementCollaborative team environment with regular interaction across teamsWhat You’ll GainHands-on experience with enterprise-level hardware and infrastructureExposure to real-world incident management and operationsOpportunity to grow into more advanced technical rolesWork in a team that values curiosity, problem-solving, and continuous learningDisclaimer: Brooksource, Medasource, and Calculated Hire are part of the Eight Eleven Group family of companies and operate under Eight Eleven Group, LLC.
