At Compass Government Solutions (CGS), our employees are our most valuable piece of the puzzle.Job DescriptionNaval Medical Center San Diego – San Diego, CACompass Government Solutions is seeking a qualified Operating Room Scheduler to provide surgical scheduling support services at Naval Medical Center San Diego. This role supports efficient operating room operations through surgical case scheduling, block time management, case coordination, and communication with surgical services, anesthesia, and perioperative leadership within a military medical center environment.This position is full-time, onsite, supporting services Monday through Friday, typically between 8:00 a.m. and 4:00 p.m., with 8-hour shifts and a 30-minute unpaid lunch break.Job Duties:Receive surgical requests, validate submitted information, and schedule surgeries appropriatelyComplete scheduling requests accurately and efficientlyEnter data into S3 or other surgical scheduling systems without errors, including typographical, spelling, or missing field errorsNotify the OR Operations Officer or service team chief when special equipment, machines, or grafts are requestedDevelop daily schedules, advanced schedules, and scheduling templatesPrint the next day’s preliminary OR schedule by 0800 for review and approval by the OR Operations OfficerTrack and release OR block time seven calendar days prior to the scheduled OR dateMaintain accurate and complete documentation of schedule-related operating room activitiesTrack and report scheduling activity to the designated element chief or OR leadershipImport data into EssentrisReview procedural lists and codes and coordinate with coders to maintain accuracy and currencyUpdate procedural and code lists at least quarterlyManage Main Operating Room surgical schedules and block time utilizationCoordinate surgical cases and maintain communication with surgical services, anesthesia teams, and perioperative leadership to support efficient OR operationsQualificationsEducationHigh School diploma or General Educational Development (GED) equivalency requiredRequired Knowledge, Skills, And ExperienceBasic medical terminology knowledge requiredExperience in medical or surgical scheduling requiredOperating room scheduling experience preferredProficiency with MHS GENESIS and Microsoft Office applicationsStrong organizational and communication skillsAbility to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced healthcare environmentKnowledge of surgical scheduling workflows and perioperative coordination processes preferredCertificationNo certification requiredAdditional InformationBenefits:At Compass Government Solutions, we value our team and offer a comprehensive benefits package designed to support your health, well-being, and professional growth:Competitive Salary – Recognizing your skills and experience.
