Multi-Service Clerk (Crestview)

Cashier PositionA cashier's primary role is to assist customers in the in-store check-out process. Main cashier duties and responsibilities include ringing up sales, bagging items, requesting price checks, honoring coupons, collecting payment, and giving appropriate change. Responsible for counting the contents of the cash register drawer at the end of each shift, maintaining receipts, records, and withdrawals. May be responsible for checking materials and supplies and reporting when stock is low.Cashier Responsibilities:Handle cash, credit, or check transactions with customersScan goods and collect paymentsEnsure pricing is correctIssue change, receipts, refunds, or ticketsRedeem stamps and couponsCount money in cash drawers at the beginning and end of shifts to ensure that amounts are correct and that there is adequate changeMake sales referrals, cross-sell products, and introduce new onesResolve customer complaints, guide them, and provide relevant informationBag items carefullyGreet customers when entering or leaving establishmentMaintain clean and tidy checkout areasKeep reports of transactionsProcess returns and check to see if items are damagedAnswer customers' questions and get a manager if answer doesn't solve the issueBag, box, or wrap packagesProvide excellent customer service to ensure satisfactionThese are the basic skills needed to obtain this position, but be aware that you will have to complete other duties that do not involve being at the register, such as facing, stocking, taking out trash, swiping, and mopping.
