Salary Range: $100,000.00 To $115,000.00 Annually
This employee oversees and optimizes the company's financial operations from accounting and reporting to budgeting and compliance. This person will ensure the integrity and timeliness of our financials, implement strategic decisions, and oversee the finance function in tandem with the CFO. Enrich customers' lives by providing a quality customer-driven experience.
General Requirements
5-7 years of experience as a controller or similar role
3-5 years of strong people management experience
Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or similar area
Proficient knowledge of Microsoft Excel, Word and Outlook
Previous experience leading financial operations and cost-savings initiatives within a scaling organization
Previous experience in organizations with 7 million or higher in revenue
Experience in a scaling organization is a plus
Physical Requirements
Must be able to operate technology and computer efficiently
Must be able to lift and carry 25+ pounds
Job duties may include standing/sitting for 8 hours a day
Key Responsibilities
Oversee daily accounting operations: accounts payable/receivable, payroll, general ledger, etc.
Complete analyses of the organization's finances as needed
Oversee all company internal audits to ensure accuracy and correct any discrepancies
Manage the month-end and year-end close processes; prepare financial statements and reports
Conduct balance sheet reconciliations, cash flow tracking, and forecast analysis
Develop, monitor, and analyze operating budgets; report variances and trends
Ensure compliance with internal control frameworks, GAAP, regulatory reporting, tax filings, and audits
Coordinate with external auditors and support year-end statutory reporting
Complete Employee Stock Ownership Plan reports with accuracy and in a timely manner for vendors
Lead and mentor accounting or finance teams/personnel
Provide financial insights, KPIs, and metrics to support strategic business decisions in tandem with the CFO
Steward organizational financial resources acting as a safeguard
Ensure smooth operations of financial functions to include on-time delivery, accurate reporting, and manager support
Act as a strategic partner to the CFO to optimize performance and guide decision-making
Align financial strategy with company scaling objectives, operational processes and goals
Coordinate and direct budget, procurement, investment activities and financial planning
Document and develop business processes and accounting policies to strengthen internal controls
Training & Company Impact
Run effective monthly manager budget meetings to provide financial guidance, education, and company alignment
Initiate financial corrective actions as needed to support the strategy and budget
Analyze and interpret financial data and recommend changes to improve systems and performance
