Federally funded positions are supplemental and therefore subject to federal funds.ROLE AND PURPOSE:Push in/Pull out tutors facilitate intervention support to ensure students are thinking critically, problem solving, and mastering the content taught in the classroom as defined by the TEKS.QUALIFICATIONS:Education/Certification:Official High School Diploma or equivalentCurrently enrolled in college/ university (preferred); or degree earnedCurrently enrolled in a college/university program working towards an education degree (preferred)SPECIAL KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS: Ability to communicate effectively with elementary, middle, and/or high school studentsAbility to motivate studentsStrong Math and Language Arts backgroundAbility to work cooperatively with othersGood communication and interpersonal skillsAbility to support students' development of digital literacy skillsAbility to support students' ownership of learning and preparation for future online learning opportunitiesMAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES:I. Instructional Support Build a rapport with students, other tutors, and facultyBe positive and professional at all timesActively participate in collaborative groups and tutorialsAssist students with organizationSet an example of personal excellence and high expectations for students to followAssist students by being familiar with textbooks and materials and classroom resourcesInform designated campus administrator of any absences/tardies prior to the beginning of the school dayFollow all policies, rules, and procedures to which regular district staff is subject and to which good practices dictateAssist students through inquiry and facilitation.Provide the students with opportunities to check their understanding of the solution/process, as well as the opportunity to process new knowledge.II.
