Job Description Job Title : Construction Superintendent / Project Manager – Confidential searchJob SummaryWe are seeking an experienced Construction Superintendent to oversee on-site operations, coordinate contractor activities, manage budgets, and ensure project delivery meets safety, quality, and timeline standards. This role serves as the primary liaison between field operations, project management, ownership, and design teams._______________________________________________________________________________Key Responsibilities :Project Planning & Bidding:Develop work scopes and bid documents to establish clear project requirementsParticipate in bid processes, including contractor interviews and clarification of project scopeIdentify and evaluate qualified contractors based on project requirements and capabilityField Operations & Supervision:Oversee and manage day-to-day on-site labor and coordinate contractor activitiesSupervise and sequence contractor work to minimize conflicts and maximize productivityManage site logistics planning to optimize workflow and minimize disruptions to building occupantsMentor and develop assistant superintendents and foreman for career growthSafety & Compliance:Enforce corporate safety policies and regulations on jobsiteConduct pre-task safety planning and maintain responsibility for field safety complianceMaintain awareness of and adherence to relevant environmental and workplace safety regulationsBudget & Schedule Management:Assist with budget management and cost control monitoringForecast resource usage and track potential changes from contractorsCreate and maintain construction schedules with regular updates and logic reviewsMonitor and incorporate schedule impacts and new activities as neededCoordinate subcontractor work scopes, scheduling, and resource allocationCommunication & Stakeholder Relations:Serve as primary field representative to owners and design teams:Effectively communicate with all team members including contractors, architects, and ownershipNegotiate with relevant authorities to achieve project milestonesProfessionally handle conflicts and confrontations in team settings_______________________________________________________________________________Qualifications Required:5-10+ years of direct experience supervising construction projects with multiple trades4-year technical, engineering, or construction management degree OR equivalent combination of education and field experienceDemonstrated knowledge of construction principles, practices, methods, and performance standardsOSHA 30-hour or 500-hour safety certificationStrong blueprint reading and construction estimating abilitiesProven ability to read and negotiate construction contractsExcellent written and verbal communication skillsStrong listening and interpersonal skillsAbility to identify and resolve complex issuesProficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and scheduling softwareFlexible, detail-oriented approach with strong organizational and time management skillsHighly Desirable:Experience on large-scale commercial or heavy civil projectsAdvanced proficiency in project management software (e.g., Primavera P6/P3 or similar)Advanced proficiency in industry-standard tools (e.g., Procore, Bluebeam, or similar)Experience in a specific market sector (higher education, healthcare, aerospace, sports facilities, etc.)Experience with specialized construction methods or technical tools relevant to the industryBachelor's degree in construction management or engineeringExceptional verbal and written communication skillsProficiency with construction management software and digital reporting tools
