We consistently seek ways to enhance our operations, support ongoing growth, and expand our services across the Northeastern and Mid-Atlantic regions and beyond.About the RoleThe Accounts Payable Specialist is responsible for managing day-to-day accounts payable processes, ensuring the accurate and timely processing of vendor invoices, expense reports, check requests, and payments. This role partners closely with vendors and internal departments to maintain positive relationships and ensure timely issue resolution. The position also supports month-end and year-end closing activities, accruals, financial reporting, and audit documentation.ResponsibilitiesManage day-to-day accounts payable processes to ensure accuracy and compliance with company policies and procedures.Review, match, code, and enter vendor invoices, purchase orders, check requests, and expense reports.Reconcile accounts payable transactions and vendor statements, promptly researching and resolving any discrepancies.Respond to vendor and internal inquiries to provide accurate information and ensure timely issue resolution.Process employee reimbursements and corporate credit card transactions.Prepare accounts payable aging reports and other financial reports for management review.Ensure all AP documentation is attached to invoices and electronically maintained to improve efficiency and internal controls.Collaborate with internal and external auditors during audits and provide necessary documentation and support.Assist with month-end and year-end closing activities, including accruals and reconciliations.Stay informed about changes in accounting regulations and industry best practices related to accounts payable.Perform other duties as assigned. QualificationsMinimum of 2 to 5 years of proven experience in accounts payable or a related finance role.Strong knowledge of accounting principles and accounts payable processes.Technical proficiency in accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, SAP, Oracle) and Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel.Strong analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills with an exceptional attention to detail and accuracy.Effective communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to interact professionally with internal and external stakeholders.Ability to prioritize tasks, meet tight deadlines, and work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.Experience with process improvement initiatives and implementation of best practices preferred.Knowledge of sales and use tax regulations and 1099 reporting requirements is a plus. EducationAssociate's degree required; Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or a related field preferred.
