Operations Specialist

Position: Operations Specialist Location: Global Headquarters, Nicholasville, Kentucky Department: Operations Reports To: North American Operations Manager Job Summary: The Operations Specialist Trainee Program at Alltech is a 12-16 month fast-track opportunity aimed at developing Plant Managers. Trainees rotate through various departments at the headquarters, including Production, Scheduling, and Inventory, to gain comprehensive operational knowledge. Upon completion, they are placed as Plant Managers at one of Alltech's global manufacturing facilities, responsible for overseeing operational goals and utilizing Microsoft AX Dynamics ERP system for site management. Required Skills/Abilities: Strong communication skills Leadership abilities Problem-solving capabilities Self-motivation Mathematical proficiency Willingness to relocate and travel Duties/Responsibilities: Rotating through various departments such as Production, Scheduling, Logistics, Inventory, Purchasing, and Customer Service to understand the production and movement of products. Developing and enforcing operational, quality, compliance, and safety goals and objectives for the manufacturing site as a Plant Manager. Utilizing Alltech’s Microsoft AX Dynamics ERP system for all areas of responsibility, including production, scheduling, and inventory control. Participating in training modules and spending several weeks in each area to learn Alltech’s business practices. Being responsible for personal protective equipment (PPE) and ensuring it is in good working order, as well as providing training on its proper use. Supervisory Responsibilities: Overseeing the training process across various departments to ensure comprehensive learning. Ensuring adherence to operational, quality, compliance, and safety standards. Education and Experience: Bachelor's Degree in a relevant field. Project management experience Strong mathematical skills Leadership experience Experience communicating across multiple levels of an organization Flexibility to relocate and travel as required by the role. Physical Requirements: Must be physically able to operate motor vehicle and forklift. Ability to lift up to 50-55 pounds repeatedly. Ability to wear a respirator (in some designated areas). Must pass post-offer physical and drug screen. Ability to stand, walk, and bend for extended periods of time. Ability to work in a production environment with varying temperature and noise levels.
