CNC Field Service Engineer

About the Role As a Field Service Engineer specializing in CNC systems, you will serve as a critical technical partner to our manufacturing clients. You will drive operational excellence by performing complex installations, diagnostics, and preventative maintenance to ensure peak machine performance and minimize downtime. Responsibilities Execute on-site installation, calibration, and commissioning of advanced CNC machinery to meet production requirements. Diagnose and resolve complex electrical, mechanical, and control system failures to restore equipment functionality rapidly. Perform comprehensive preventative maintenance programs that extend the lifecycle of high-precision industrial assets. Provide expert technical guidance and training to client operators to improve their internal troubleshooting capabilities. Maintain precise service records and technical documentation to ensure full transparency regarding machine status and repair history. Collaborate with internal engineering teams to identify recurring equipment trends and implement long-term reliability solutions. Required Skills 5+ years of hands-on experience in CNC machine repair and industrial maintenance. Advanced proficiency in reading and interpreting complex electrical schematics and mechanical blueprints. Strong diagnostic skills regarding industrial control systems, servo motors, and PLC integration. Ability to travel regionally to support a diverse client base in dynamic manufacturing environments. Excellent interpersonal skills with a focus on delivering professional, customer-centric technical support. Preferred Skills Experience with multi-axis machining centers and advanced CNC control platforms. Proficiency in utilizing Microsoft Office and enterprise service management software for reporting. Prior experience in a field-based role providing technical support for heavy industrial equipment.
