Production Planner
Position PurposeManage all aspects of the working relationship within our production facility, to include long range planning of inventory and production levels, daily scheduling of production and shipping requirements, and expediting activities as necessary to ensure customer satisfaction. Coordinates activities with OWI customer service and location personnel to satisfy all customer requirements.Duties, Tasks, And ResponsibilitiesProduction PlanningDevelop and maintain production schedules in collaboration with third-party sites to meet customer demand and optimize operational efficiency.Work closely with the centralized planning team to align production plans with overall company objectives.Inventory ManagementImplement and execute inventory strategies to achieve optimal levels, balancing between customer service goals and cost objectives.Monitor and manage inventory days on hand, ensuring alignment with strategic goals.Clear and process any system errors generated by production that may cause delays in shipments in a timely manner.Customer ServiceEnsure customer on-time service levels exceed 95% through effective production planning and coordination.Address any customer-related concerns or inquiries promptly.Communicate with plants and customer service clear and concisely to provide accurate information regarding orders.Capacity and Storage ManagementOptimize production capacity utilization while considering storage constraints.Collaborate with operations to identify and address capacity challenges proactively.Communication and CollaborationMaintain regular communication with operations, customer support, warehousing, purchasing departments, and on-site teams to ensure smooth production operations.Collaborate with cross-functional teams to address scheduling adherence issues and implement root cause corrective actions.System Data ManagementUtilize and maintain ERP planning systems, with a preference for experience in SAP, to ensure accurate and up-to-date production data.Implement improvements to enhance the efficiency and accuracy of data management processes.Lean Six SigmaApply lean six sigma principles to identify opportunities for process improvement within the production planning and inventory management functions.Education, Skills And AbilitiesBachelor's degree in supply chain management, business administration, or a related field.1 to 3 years of experience in production planning or a related role within the supply chain.Proficient in Microsoft Suite and experience with ERP planning systems, SAP preferred.Strong analytical skills with the ability to work in a complex and dynamic environment.Lean Six Sigma certification or experience is preferred.Excellent communication and collaboration skills.Ability to multitask and adapt to changing priorities.This Opportunity Offers a Competitive Benefits Package IncludingMedical, dental, and vision coverage with wellness benefitsCompany-matching 401(k) planCompany-paid life insurance and accidental death & dismemberment benefitsCompany-paid identity theft insuranceCompany-paid disabilityFlexible spending and health savings accountsCompany-paid employee assistance programPaid time off and paid holidaysAdditional benefits included: voluntary life insurance, legal benefits, critical illness, accident insurance, hospital indemnity insurance, and pet insuranceOld World Industries is among the largest privately held companies competing in the automotive aftermarket today.
