The person in this position will provide instructional leadership to the entire school community. Essential duties include the following:Leading the RHS Equity and Inclusion TeamImplementing District policies and regulations and ensuring compliance with state and federal requirements related to Common Core State Standards and the International Baccalaureate (IB) Diploma ProgrammeDeveloping and supporting rigorous, student-centered academic programsContributing to student achievement through data-driven decision-making and effective leadership skillsDirecting effective staff development to ensure quality instruction and educational programmingWorking with a variety of parent, staff, and community committees to achieve a strong, coordinated, and cooperative working relationship that is student outcome-focusedEnsuring a positive learning environment by establishing and maintaining appropriate behavioral expectations and standards for studentsProviding leadership to staff, parents, and students on all aspects of school improvementDemonstrating a strong knowledge of and commitment to working with students of all abilities, including Special Education and Talented and Gifted programsSupporting all school programs, including athletics, clubs, and other student organizations, and other extensions of classroom learningHiring, assigning, retaining, and evaluating all classified and certified staffCommunicating with all school and community stakeholders through multiple mediumsContributing to effective school programs by participating in professional conferences, trainings, and readingsManaging the High School building budget and ensuring district purchasing practices are followedPotential for district leadership stipendMinimum Required Knowledge/Skills/QualificationsAdministrative Credential through Oregon TSPC or eligibility to gain oneMaster's degree in Education5 or more years of successful teaching experiencePreferred Knowledge/Skills/QualificationsPrevious Administrative experience preferredExperience in Special Education & Talented and Gifted Programs preferredExperience working with diverse student populations preferredExperience with district Equity Initiatives preferredExperience with or knowledge of the International Baccalaureate (IB) Diploma ProgrammeOther Necessary TraitsExceptional communication, organizational, and interpersonal skillsHigh ethical and professional standardsAbility to work well under pressure and multiple deadlinesCollaborative and team-focusedDemonstrated experience in an educational settingFront-facing and highly engaged with the communityEqual Opportunity EmployerRiverdale School District recognizes the diversity and worth of all individuals and groups.
