As an Associate Producer, you will pitch stories, compile research, coordinate video and graphic elements, and work hands-on with our on-air meteorologists. You will be involved with contributing to our social media presence, as well as sourcing the best user-generated content. The Associate Producer needs strong production skills to produce informative and compelling content and thrives in a fast-paced environment.A SNAPSHOT OF YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES:Pitch stories daily, with topics ranging from the most important breaking weather news to features on weather-related stories of interestHelp produce segments for FOX Weather programmingFind the best sound bites, video and graphics to build the most informative and compelling segmentsWrite banners, cut video and, on rare occasions, book guests all while quickly responding to breaking weather newsQuickly identify strong user-generated content from multiple sources, ensuring the best elements are incorporated into FOX Weather coverageWHAT YOU WILL NEED:Bachelor’s degree in journalism preferred, or equivalent experience2 years of news or news-related production experienceMust have a passion for weather - weather experience a plusBroadcast weather display system experience is a plusExperience in a live control roomExperience writing/producing segmentsAbility to meet quick deadlines and react to breaking newsWe are an equal opportunity employer and all qualified applicants will receive consideration for employment without regard to race, color, religion, sex, national origin, gender identity, disability, protected veteran status, or any other characteristic protected by law. This role is also eligible for various benefits, including medical/dental/vision, insurance, a 401(k) plan, paid time off, and other benefits in accordance with applicable plan documents. Benefits for Union represented employees will be in accordance with the applicable collective bargaining agreement.
