The Welder & Metal Fabricator fabricates and assembles structural metal products, such as framework or shells, for theatrical sets and scenery from blueprints. Essential Duties and Responsibilities:Responsible for forming, shaping, welding, assembling, and cleaning all forms of metal connections in set pieces and other theatrical structures. Install special mechanical assemblies and special piece frames involved in sets and in-house projects. Collaborate with the team to continually develop improved systems for meeting design specifications and building set pieces. Read, understand, and implement blueprints and other drafting documents. Prerequisites:Experience in welding aluminum and steel. Ability to read, understand, and follow both digital and paper blueprints and drawings. The physical demands of this position are active in nature. You will be expected to be on your feet frequently, walk and stand regularly, consistently communicate with team members using a radio, work indoors, use ladders and other lift equipment, operate heavy machinery and power tools, and frequently lift/exert up to 50 lb.s of force.
