Summary of Position
Responsible and accountable for ensuring all restaurant staff is trained in proper service techniques and sanitation guidelines. Also responsible for coaching and mentoring all direct reports to ensure effective employee development.
Responsibilities
Greet customers entering the store & provide friendly customer service
Guide and direct customers to appropriate menu items of interest and answer related inquiries
Ensure accuracy of all guest orders by maintaining expert knowledge of Point‑of‑Sale (POS) system(s)
Possess thorough and accurate knowledge of menu items and specials
Provide technical training and support to less experienced cafe staff and model professionalism with guests and other employees at all times
Accurately total, process and collect payments from guests, including handling money, processing credit/debit cards, and making change
Restock and maintain displays, labeling correctly as needed, per company standards
Participate in closing and opening procedures
Participate in daily cleaning/maintenance duties
Contribute to a positive environment where all employees trust and respect each other
Position Requirements
Possess ServSafe Manager Certification
Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
Excellent communication skills to interact positively with others
Ability to multi‑task and perform well under pressure
Possess strong leadership and managerial skills, including the ability to coach, develop and clearly communicate expectations
Dependable – always on time and on schedule
Intermediate computer skills with Microsoft Office and familiarity with POS systems
Self‑motivated with the ability to perform with the highest professional and ethical standards
Majority of shift spent on feet in a fast‑paced environment, in close proximity to others
Able to lift frequently up to 25 lbs. and occasionally up to 50 lbs.; position involves frequent bending, twisting, lifting and squatting and up to eight hours per day on feet in a fast‑paced environment
Education and Experience
Education: Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university in Hospitality, Culinary or related field is preferred. Experience: Minimum five years F& B management experience; POS experience. Certification: ServeSafe certification required.
