Safety Supervisor (Compliance/HazMat)

Job Description:Job SummaryA Safety Supervisor is needed to oversee transportation safety and ensure regulatory compliance across daily operations. The role focuses on maintaining a safe work environment, enforcing safety policies, and ensuring compliance with federal and industry regulations. Responsibilities include conducting safety audits, leading investigations, coordinating training programs, and driving continuous improvement initiatives to reduce risk and enhance workplace safety.RequirementsRequiredMinimum 5 years of safety experience in an industrial environmentWorking knowledge of OSHA, NFPA, Industrial Hygiene (IH), DOT/GHS regulations, and ergonomicsAt least 2 years of supervisory experienceStrong written and verbal communication skills in English and SpanishAbility to analyze problems, collect data, and draw valid conclusionsIntermediate computer skills (Word, Excel, reporting, and data analysis)Knowledge of compliance processes, methods, and proceduresAbility to travel domestically and internationallyAbility to work independently, including extended hours, weekends, and holidays as neededAbility to coordinate programs, prepare reports, and maintain accurate recordsMust obtain a TWIC card within 30 days of employmentPreferredBachelor's degree in Occupational Safety, Environmental Science, or a related fieldCertified Safety Professional (CSP) certificationExperience in ocean transportation or maritime shipping industry ResponsibilitiesOversee daily safety operations and ensure regulatory complianceIdentify and correct workplace hazards and unsafe conditionsConduct and follow up on safety audits and inspectionsCoordinate and lead safety committee meetingsPlan and deliver safety training programs, ensuring completion and competency validationCollaborate with management and staff to maintain a safe work environmentMaintain records to ensure compliance with state and federal regulationsCommunicate with regulatory agencies as neededSupport development and implementation of safety policies and proceduresLead and manage accident investigations, including root cause analysis and corrective actionsPrepare safety reports and documentationMaintain confidentiality of sensitive informationDevelop and manage safety reference materials and resourcesEnsure proper handling and disposal of hazardous materialsAct as a team lead during emergency situations and coordinate with external agenciesRespond to and mitigate hazardous material incidents during transportationPerform additional duties as assigned Physical & Work RequirementsFrequent walking, standing, speaking, and hearingOccasional lifting (up to 15 pounds) and physical activity such as climbing, balancing, or working in tight spacesAbility to maintain effective working relationships with teams and external partnersAbility to follow procedures accurately and work independentlyWorking Place:Miami, Florida, United StatesCompany :
